This is an early and desirable Type 1 Paratrooper M1A1 carbine from 1942. Early six digit serial with barrel date of October 1942. Excellent, original finish with just a bit of general thinning on the barrel. No sign of bayonet lug ever being in place or removed, and no stake marks on rear sight. Front sight is 'N' marked, rear sight is 'S' marked. Stock has crossed cannons cartouche and IO mark on pistol grip, with circle P proof on rear. Handguard is also correctly IO marked inside. Correct, early high wood stock. Stock is in fantastic condition and hardly looks used. Original WW2 sling and also comes with the 1943 dated carry case. Mint bore. Magazine is minty and II marked. No import marks. Just a fantastic example of a very desirable collectors piece.No trade please.
