Vintage Schrade Walden MC1 Orange military paratrooper switchblade knife made for the US government under contract by Schrade Walden into the 1960s. These knives also saw use by NASA and carried into space with astronauts as well as used by other government agencies. The knife measures 4.25 inches closed and 7.25 inches with blade open and it has steel liners & lanyard ring with nickel silver button & safety. The clip blade is opened automatically by pressing the button and the hook blade opens manually. Typically, paratroopers deployed with the hook blade in the open position for quick emergency use. The clip blade is marked Schrade Walden NY USA and is 98% full or better and shiny with a few light scratches. The hook blade is in very good condition and has good spring tension.
